Traversées / Kimsooja

Kimsooja est invitée à poser son regard sur Poitiers, à investir différents lieux de la ville. Le projet de Kimsooja, en résonnance avec d’autres artistes, ceux qui l’ont inspiré et ceux avec qui elle partage de fortes affinités, toutes origines et toutes générations confondues, va s’articuler telle une traversée de la ville où les chemins se croisent, de rencontrent, bifurquent. Les artistes vont proposer des œuvres étroitement liées à l’histoire et à l’architecture des lieux, pour révéler la ville et ses richesses.
Une programmation associée s’est dessinée avec les acteurs culturels et les forces vives du territoire. La programmation sera ponctuée de temps forts, de rendez-vous et d’événements qui se dérouleront dans l’espace public et dans des lieux inattendus.

From October 12th 2019 to January 19th 2020, Kimsooja, South Korean artist, surrounds the City of Poitiers on the occasion of the first edition of Traversées, a new international artistic and cultural event, closely linked to the destiny of a major building, the Palace of the Dukes of Aquitaine, and its neighborhood, historical and heritage heart of the city.
Kimsooja welcomes other artists, with whom her work resonates, and invites them to look at the city and create new perspectives. From India to Morocco, via South Korea, Peru or Japan, Traversées / Kimsooja is an invitation to a kaleidoscopic trip around the world, punctuated by installations, concerts and performances.
