Abstract

Stone Island. 30 years
A photographic selection from the Stone Island archive '982 -' 012

This volume celebrates 30 years of Stone Island, one of the major brands of sports/informal clothing. Stone Island - conceived by the Italian designer Massimo Osti in 1982 and currently under the direction of Carlo Rivetti - is famous all over the world for its garments, recognizable by the refined finishes, the casual and elegant line, and above all by the particular materials used, the result of the research that the house continuously carries out in the textile field, with the aim of obtaining innovative fibers and performing fabrics, in the name of hi-tech.
The volume tells, through 307 photographs of various models ranging from the eighties to today - including sweatshirts, sweaters, trousers and above all jackets, the flagship of the Stone Island production - the history and evolution of the brand, which has grown to gather around itself a diverse and transversal audience of admirers. The volume, introduced by a text by Carlo Rivetti, features a critical essay by Francesco Morace and photographs by Nick Griffiths.
