Abstract

The passion for aperitifs is here represented through images with a great visual impact. Posters, advertising graphics, menus, calendars, signs, as well as designer objects, such as tables and chairs, glasses with various logos, coasters and ice buckets, reflect participation in an important familial and social event with its roots in civil living, ranging from the late nineteenth century down to the contemporary happy hour.
The purpose is to relate a true history of communication by major companies, such as Branca, Campari, Carpano, Cinzano, Cynar, Martini, which entrusted their image to illustrious artists, such as Leonetto Cappiello, Fortunato Depero, Marcello Dudovich, Mario Gros, Marcello Nizzoli and Armando Testa.
