Nello Petrucci. Profili

Dopo il grande successo a Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo a Venezia, apre al pubblico la mostra personale Profili dell’artista pompeiano Nello Petrucci, presso la sede del Museo Giuseppe Scalvini nella suggestiva cornice di Villa Tittoni a Desio (MB).
In occasione dell'opening di mostra, sabato 4 marzo 2023, dalle ore 17.00, verrà presentato il catalogo Nello Petrucci. Profili_Profiles, edito nel 2022 da Silvana Editoriale, con testi di Luca Beatrice, Giovanni Boccia, Chiara Canali e Luigi Giordano.

A prominent personality in the Italian and international art scene, Nello Petrucci is an Italian author and filmmaker who works using different expressive techniques (from painting to collage, from halftone photographic printing to screen printing) and intervening in different media and linguistic fields (from cinema to contemporary art, from Street Art to public art).
Both as regards the profiles recovered from classicism and cinema, and for the subjects coming from the news and current affairs, Petrucci has deliberately identified and chosen the halftone technique for its characteristic of being low definition, opaque, discontinuous, because, by providing little visual information to the observer, it requires a greater participation to complete what is only suggested by the mosaic pattern of dots.
This halftone procedure is taken to extremes in the Street Art interventions conceived and created by Petrucci for the urban context and presented here in the form of print on Fine Art Giclèe paper.
