Taroni-Cividin: Performance, Video, Expanded Cinema (1977-1984)

Samedi 22 avril à 15h30, au MAC | Musée d’art contemporain de Lyon, rencontre avec Flora Pitrolo et Roberto Taroni : Taroni-Cividin : Diamants de l’Archive.

La publication de la monographie : Taroni-Cividin. Performance, Video e Expanded Cinema 1977-1984 par Jennifer Malvezzi et Flora Pitrolo est l’occasion de revenir sur l’œuvre de ce duo d’artistes milanais, qui a de plus participé au Symposium de performance à Lyon en 1981.
Actif entre 1977 et 1984 à l’échelle internationale, le duo Taroni-Cividin a développé une approche très innovante de la performance qui continue d’intéresser la recherche contemporaine. Roberto Taroni et Flora Pitrolo échangeront autour de l’archive des performances historiques, en dialogue avec Hubert Besacier, co-commissaire avec Orlan du Symposium de 1981, en présence d’Alain Garlan partenaire du symposium avec FRIGO.
Raphaële Jeune dans sa recherche aborde la question de l'événement dans l'art actuel. Elle apportera une contribution philosophique sur les déplacements qui s'opèrent entre la performance de l'artiste et la présence du spectateur.

The practice of Taroni-Cividin constitutes one of the most groundbreaking areas of the international experimental landscape. Active between 1977 and 1984, the two artists pushed at the edges of cinema and of performance, of the live and the recorded, developing a very personal language that continues to generate questions in some of the present time's most pressing debates.
