Pinocchio nei costumi di Massimo Cantini Parrini

In occasione del Natale 2019, il Museo del Tessuto di Prato inaugura una mostra dedicata al pluripremiato costumista cinematografico Massimo Cantini Parrini.
La mostra presenta in anteprima assoluta il suo ultimo straordinario lavoro: oltre 30 costumi realizzati per il film "Pinocchio" di Matteo Garrone, uscito nelle sale il 19 dicembre distribuito da 01 Distribution e interpretato da un cast di assoluta eccezione, con Roberto Benigni nei panni di Geppetto, Gigi Proietti di Mangiafuoco, Rocco Papaleo e Massimo Ceccherini in quelli del Gatto e la Volpe.
Dei costumi in mostra, venticinque sono stati realizzati dalla Sartoria Tirelli, cinque dalla Sartoria Costumi d’Arte Peruzzi, due da Cospazio 26, mentre le parrucche da Rocchetti e Rocchetti.
Il percorso della mostra è articolato in due sezioni: la prima dedicata al costumista, alle sue fonti d’ispirazione, al suo lavoro creativo e sul set, la seconda ai costumi del film, accompagnati da immagini tratte dal film stesso, dalla riproduzione di alcune scenografie e da alcuni simbolici oggetti di scena.

This book is dedicated to the award-winning cinematographic costume designer Massimo Cantini Parrini, of whom his latest extraordinary work is presented: over thirty costumes created for the film "Pinocchio" by Matteo Garrone, released in cinemas in December 2019.
The texts and the interview gathered in these pages tell about the designer, his work and his sources of inspiration, including historic clothing from the 18th and 19th centuries from his extraordinary personal collection. The section dedicated to the stage costumes of the main characters of the film follows, accompanied by insights on the stylistic choices, aging treatments and other curiosities.
