00s. Collection Cranford: les années 2000

A partir d’une des plus importantes collections européennes d’art contemporain, la collection Cranford, 00s est la première exposition qui fait le point sur les années 2000.
Portée par de nombreux fantasmes, de peurs et d’espérances, cette décennie est marquée par de profonds bouleversements. A travers une centaine d’œuvres d’artistes de générations différentes (65 années séparent Josh Smith et Louise Bourgeois, la doyenne de l’exposition) mais qui ont toutes et tous contribué à inventer la première décennie du millénaire, de singuliers dialogues avec l’époque se dessinent.
Avec quelques-uns de ses chefs d’œuvre, l’art raconte l’histoire des années 2000.

00s is the first exhibition that explores the 2000s, taking as its starting point one of the most important European collections of contemporary art – the Cranford Collection. Marked by profound changes, this decade seems to have never ended, as if it were still extending towards us. How to give shape to this phantom period’s identity? Through more than 100 works by artists from across different generations, all of whom have contributed to shape the beginning of this millennium, materialise unique and unusual conversations with this time.
