L’Arte Inquieta

Attraverso dipinti, sculture, disegni, grafiche e libri d’artista di 57 artisti, la mostra propone un percorso espositivo che esplora il tema dell’identità inquieta, che interroga il nostro tempo. Un'esposizione dove autori di poetiche fondative della nostra modernità dialogano tra loro con opere talvolta provenienti da mondi esclusi, ma ad oggi considerate un prezioso e necessario archivio dell’immaginario: dall’art brut visionaria con i suoi linguaggi inediti, sino alle opere di grandi maestri delle avanguardie quali Paul Klee, Max Ernst e Jean Dubuffet, il percorso espositivo indaga la bruciante vitalità del genio artistico e l'inquieta identità del suo sguardo sulla storia, su desideri e realtà di questo mondo.

La mostra è il momento culminante di Identità Inquieta, un grande lavoro corale della città di Reggio Emilia che, nell’attuale fase di progettazione, coinvolge istituzioni e organizzazioni della vita sociale, educativa e culturale (tra cui Reggio Emilia Città senza Barriere, FCR di Reggio Emilia, Servizi Culturali del Comune – Musei Civici, Biblioteche, AUSL), con l’intento di offrire un ricco e variegato calendario di eventi culturali e opportunità di partecipazione attiva.

This book explores the multiple facets of identity thanks to a series of authors who have observed their inner reality and the world using innovative languages. In today’s scenario, their gazes are more necessary than ever: here, “restless art” is the child of the artists’ expressive urgency that, at the core of their feverish activity, generates unique and surprising works.
It’s a journey into the very beginning of art, into its spontaneous and instinctive origins, following the tensions of the expressionist line and the surrealist poetics open to the dream realm, beyond the boundaries of rational thought; an itinerary among works also from marginalised groups, today a precious and essential archive of the imaginary – Art Brut, therefore, visionary and with unprecedented languages, is on show.
Carla Accardi, Alighiero Boetti, Jean Dubuffet, Max Ernst, Alberto Giacometti, Keith Haring, Emilio Isgrò, Paul Klee, Anselm Kiefer, Maria Lai, Antonio Ligabue, Zoran Mušič, Emil Nolde, Yves Tanguy are just some of the artists displayed, alongside works from the San Lazzaro Archives preserved at the Museum of History of Psychiatry in Reggio Emilia.
