Alberto Bortoluzzi

Dal 7 aprile al 18 giugno 2023, il Castello di Masnago a Varese ospita la mostra fotografica Alberto Bortoluzzi - ghosts.

Frutto di una serie di campagne fotografiche condotte in Sardegna dal fotografo Andrea Bortoluzzi (Varese, 1961) nel corso di diversi anni, la serie ha come oggetto d’indagine le meravigliose rocce granitiche che caratterizzano il paesaggio dell’isola. Plasmate da vento e acqua per millenni, appaiono ai nostri occhi con forme impensabili: alcune hanno sembianze animali, altre antropomorfe, con pose talvolta talmente dinamiche che sembrano uscite dalle mani di sapienti scultori.
Attraverso un attento uso del bianco e nero, Bortoluzzi ci consegna una suggestiva rappresentazione di questi spettacolari monumenti naturali.

“The shapes that I found seem to go back to the origins of mankind and are so hard and rugged as to become disturbing. It is not uncommon to find shapes of diabolical creatures that look as though they have come from the Underworld. Then there are skulls, birds of prey, bears, seals, elephants, whales, dogs and even sea turtles. One day I came across a rock that reminded me of Dante Alighieri, and I wondered if it was just by chance, or if it really was the Poet wanting to act as my personal guide through this Dante’s circle.”
