Valerio Berruti continues to investigate the theme of childhood, an inexhaustible source of inspiration for the artist from Alba. But this time there is a major break: “For the first time, my drawings feature a new character appearing alongside the figures of the children: the shadow”. The shadow is a playmate, but it is also darkness; it is childhood, but also adulthood; symbol of a fascinating rite of passage. This reflection applies to drawings and tapestries, bas-reliefs and sculptures, and to the recent animated video made with the american singer Joan As Police Woman.
