The volume retraces the history of an exhibition of particular importance entitled Opera o comportamento [Work or Behaviour], set up in 1972 in a wing of the Central Pavilion at the 36th Venice Biennale. In his critical texts Renato Barilli remembers the vitality of that event and the interest in its reconstruction at Centro Pecci in Prato.
The volume includes interviews with Franco Vaccari and Angelo Bacci, the works of the artists exhibited at the time - Gino De Dominicis, Luciano Fabro, Mario Merz, Germano Olivotto, Franco Vaccari -, a photographic repertoire and a press review with articles from the years 1972-1976.
