Space carries the signs which are rooted in man and which live through perception and interpretation, through the gaze and through art. These existential signs transform into landscapes of the soul, into scenarios in which what is real forms the connective tissue and where images overlap based on the association of sentiments and emotions. The aesthetic display of Calabria surrounded by vegetation, in all its beauty and mystery, alternates with dismay due to environmental issues, marginalization, and crystallized social problems. In its research, Zeroottouno shifts the archetypal images of rural life, of human and geographical landscapes to the physicality of nature, to the threads within it woven by the history. Segments of life emerge, snippets of familiar scenarios absorbed by the process of radical change. In this dense accumulation of signs, material and symbolic, it looks like the two artists want to capture the totality of Calabrian space, enveloping in a strong emotional web the places inside it.
