Abstract

Musiche once freed from all categories, classification and genre, expressed not only in the concert dimension but also in that of rehearsals, composition, and through the reaction of the audience […] whose presence along with the performers in space and time makes the performance event possible, replicable ad infinitum, and at the same time both unique and unrepeatable.
Marco Pierini

A silent anthropology of sound stems out of musical photography, according to a specific narrative form that often captures the point of intersection of actions that are awaited and events that change their meaning. The world of Lelli e Masotti has carved out a place for itself on this thin layer, which is the same layer on which musical temporality develops. The happening of sound is constantly juxtaposed to the dramatic shapes of human characters, introducing us to ironic, ecstatic, tragic, amused situations through the relation that is established between the musician, the instrument and the audience, or delving into the solitude of a performance – thus, sound becomes a world, in its fullest sense.
