Abstract

The volume is dedicated to Paolo Masi (Florence, 1933), a "wandering artist" - as Matteo Galbiati defines him in the critical text - whose intense and articulated artistic parable is retraced here.
His experience places him in the midst of the debate that has characterized the Italian and international scene since the end of the 1950s and which has put painting into serious discussion.
Over the decades Masi has acted in very different pictorial terms and with as many different outcomes, always implementing an effective expressive synthesis in which gesture, sign and color emerge as the absolute protagonists of his essential language.
The volume documents hundreds of the artist's works, includes an interview by Carlo Vanoni and is complete with an anthology of the artist's writings and biographical apparatus.
