Abstract

This book is dedicated to Giuseppe Modica (Mazara del Vallo, 1953), a nationally and internationally-renowned artist, whose works are characterized by enigmatic atmospheres full of omens, which lead the observer into an unknown and secret dimension that fascinates and disturbs at the same time. The focus of the works presented here is specific to the theme of the atelier, one of the Sicilian painter’s most investigated subjects. The studio, in fact, represents the creative space par excellence, a refuge in which the fruitfulness of ideas, creative impulse and inspiration take shape, translating into finished and aesthetically accomplished work.
