Maria Elisabetta Novello

Maria Elisabetta Novello is a visual artist who found in ashes the fundamental component of her work: it’s the key material through which she gives voice to her art. If ashes are at the core of her works, thinking and acting come before. What she is interested in, in fact, is highlighting what lies between the poetic and material spheres, or between content and form. Her research implies the need to resort to a process: it’s an ultra-reality made of space and time, elements with which to ‘measure’ our reality, the flow of events, and what they represent. Space and time are in turn understood as entities to be catalogued, documented, and mapped.
