“Respirer l’art” is an exhibition dedicated to the links between perfumery and contemporary artistic creation.
For several years artists, philosophers, perfumers and scientists have tackled the major issues related to the place of perfume in art: the definition of an olfactory art, the use of smells by visual artists in immersive installations, the work- totally immaterial olfactory perfume, the perfumer-artist freed from economic contingencies, the evocation of raw materials, the art of glass...
All these current themes are approached here by the cross-references of artists and perfumers involved by the Musée International de la Parfumerie in its exploration of the world of perfumery.
