Abstract

This monograph, with a rich photographic repertoire, aims to offer a visual narration of Giuseppe Pietroniro's thought, characterized, since his first works, by a profound reflection on the concept of Space, a word that deliberately recurs more in this book.
In his artistic elaboration the fruits of the academic studies of Scenography flow together, which well tell the artist's forma mentis and the origin of his relationship with space, as well as the context in which the artist moves, i.e. the city of Rome , a true "theatrical backdrop" from which to freely draw inspiration, between the renovations of the baroque facades and the classic perspective escapes.
Pietroniro's works, which also have playful features, open up another, magical world to the spectator: they distort the rules of the game and come to contradict the very concept of space, determining a temporal conception that is at times suspended, in which he reaches a compromise between a world oneiric and a real one, between metaphysical and physical.
The volume includes the reflections of Giuliana Benassi, Manuel Orazi, Jelena Todorovic, Davide Ferri, Lorenzo Benedetti, Claudia Gioia, and a conversation with the artist collected by Francesco Stocchi.
