The catalogue presents the series realised by Dadamaino (1930-2004) between the seventies and the nineties, documenting the complex research on the sign begun by the artist with the series Inconscio razionale and Costellazioni, then fully developed with Passo dopo passo and above all with Il movimento delle cose, as the two vast works presented at the 1990 Venice Biennale are titled. Here Dadamaino literally fills the vast surfaces with signs, which seem to float on the translucent surface of the material employed, following irregular gaits, not designed according to a preventive method, but as if transcribing live the stream of consciousness that animates the artist. Dadamaino forces the viewers to question their own precognitions, opening cycles that follow only the times and modes of the artist’s own unyielding brooding, her own unsatisfiable searching.
