The project by the artist Cesare Viel is entitled Corpi estranei, freely inspired by the poetry of Emily Dickinson, which took place between Italy and Spain starting from September 2022 in various stages in the form of workshops, performances and new models of artistic production.
Realized thanks to the support of the Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture as part of the Italian Council programme, it was conceived by Elisa Fulco, Giulia Ingarao and Antonio Leone and promoted by the ruber.contemporanea Association in partnership with Universidad de Málaga, Center Pompidou Málaga, Facultad de Bellas Artes de Málaga, Collection of the Ruso Museum of Málaga, Pietro and Alberto Rossini Foundation and Sicilia Foundation.
The volume illustrates the three stages of the project: Villa Zito in Palermo, the Center Pompidou in Malaga and the Pietro and Alberto Rossini Foundation in Briosco (Monza Brianza).
In line with Cesare Viel's artistic practice, Corpi estranei foresaw different actions united by the use of writing as an enlarged field that translates and gives shape to different interventions in which the word becomes an image, wall drawing, manuscript, banner writing, voice and performance.
A system project focused on the activation of relational processes and the exchange of good practices among all the actors involved, which ended with the entry of the manifesto Corpo estraneo/Toccare un tesoro into the collection of Riso – Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Palermo.
